ResumeTracker provides career productivity software designed to help job seekers organize their job search. Key services include:
- ResumeTracker Web Dashboard: A comprehensive workspace to track job applications, pipeline stages (Wishlist, Applied, Interview, Offer, Rejected), contacts, activity logs, and analytics.
- AI Job Clipper Extension: A Chrome extension that allows users to extract job posting details from third-party career portals, convert unstructured text to structured Markdown, and sync items to their dashboard.
- AI Parsing & Analysis: Automated extraction of key skills, salary ranges, responsibilities, and qualifications from job postings.
- AI Resume Tailoring & Generation: Tailored, targeted resume variants aligned to job postings using structured career background details.

We strictly collect only the minimal information required to deliver the Service. An email address and password are the only mandatory fields required to create an account. All extended profile attributes (such as phone numbers, location, career history, education, and portfolio URLs) are entirely optional and provided voluntarily by you to facilitate resume tailoring and job application management. Prior to any AI inference processing, direct personal identifiers (such as full name, email address, phone number, and physical street address) are systematically scrubbed and omitted. You retain the right to edit, modify, or delete any profile attribute at any time.
send3. Where Potential Data Is Being Sent (Data Destinations)
To deliver our features, your data may be transmitted to the following systems and third-party service providers:
When you save a job, update your career profile, generate tailored resumes, or log in, data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS to the ResumeTracker backend API and stored in secure PostgreSQL database infrastructure for account persistence and dashboard synchronization.
When you utilize AI features (such as parsing raw job postings, extracting skill keywords, or generating tailored resumes), relevant job description text and structured career details are transmitted to external AI inference gateways—primarily OpenRouter and Google Gemini API (utilizing OpenAI-compatible client libraries for API protocol compatibility).
Third-Party Inference Vendor Policies & Data Retention Notice:
- Scope of Transmitted Data: When you invoke AI features, data sent to AI inference endpoints includes (1) public job posting information (job titles, descriptions, qualifications, and company names) for parsing and skill extraction, and (2) professional career details (employment history, achievements, skills, and education) when generating tailored resumes or application materials.
- PII Scrubbing & Data Minimization: Direct personal contact identifiers—including your full name, email address, phone number, and physical street address—are omitted and scrubbed from inference payloads prior to transmission. Only the professional qualifications necessary to evaluate or tailor your resume are provided to the model.
- Vendor Training & Retention Disclosures: While ResumeTracker never sells, rents, or monetizes your personal data, third-party inference vendors and upstream model hosts (such as OpenRouter, Google Gemini, and associated model providers, particularly when operating on free-tier endpoints or accounts) operate under their own terms and privacy practices. These third parties may log requests or retain prompt data subject to their independent policies. ResumeTracker has no control over third-party AI provider data retention, server logs, or training practices.
Certain configurations, such as custom API endpoints, UI state, and active login sessions, are stored locally within your browser using localStorage, cookies, and chrome.storage.
When you purchase subscription plans or AI credit top-up packages, billing and payment data (such as cardholder name, payment method tokens, and billing addresses) is transmitted directly to our third-party payment processor, Stripe, Inc. as an independent data controller and processor. ResumeTracker never collects, handles, or stores raw credit card numbers or security CVVs on our servers. All transactions are handled in strict compliance with PCI-DSS standards. We use PostHog to analyze aggregated application health, monitor frontend error exceptions, and evaluate feature performance. PostHog is configured with strict client-side masking (all user input text and element attributes are scrubbed). Analytics capturing is strictly gated behind your cookie consent and can be opted out of at any time via our Cookie Policy.
We NEVER sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal data, resume details, or job hunting history with third-party advertisers, data brokers, or credit/lending institutions.

While we do not sell your data, third-party inference providers and model hosts (especially when using free-tier endpoints or accounts) may retain, inspect, or use prompt transmissions for training according to their own independent terms of service. ResumeTracker has zero control over third-party AI vendor logging, retention, or training behaviors. We cannot guarantee third-party vendor practices.

- We are not responsible or liable for any job rejections, hiring decisions, interview outcomes, or missed application deadlines resulting from your use of this software.
- We are not responsible for any inaccuracies, hallucinations, omissions, or errors generated by third-party AI models or parsing algorithms.
- We are not responsible for changes, blocks, or layout adjustments instituted by third-party job boards (e.g., LinkedIn, Indeed, Greenhouse, Lever) that may affect clipping accuracy.
- We are not responsible for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from data loss, downtime, or security incidents on self-hosted instances.

We implement industry-standard encryption (TLS/HTTPS) and credential hashing to safeguard your information. You retain full control over your data:
- Access & Export: You can view, edit, and export all your clipped applications, master career profile details, tailored resumes, and notes directly from your dashboard at any time.
- Deletion: You can delete individual job records, remove tailored resume versions, clear profile entries, or request full account removal, which will purge your stored application data and career records.
